Question, (posed beginning of October): Does the previous 3 months indicate the next 3 months? Or, does the first month of spring inversely predict the rest of Spring?

We experienced a fairly wet September, so did this indicate a repeat of the Spring drought of 2010, (very dry October/November followed by very wet December/January)? Who knows, but it poses an interesting question. (December answer - "nope"!)

Notes

Monday 3 Sep 2012 was exceptionally heavy rain in a short period, (at least 60mm in less than 2 hours), but not the most rain we've had in a single day.

The other high rainfall days have been:

29 Mar 07   133mm
8 Jul 07       110mm
28 Jan 11     105.3mm
3 Sep 12       87.0mm

2011 was the wettest year since we began keeping records, (by far!)

Total for 2011 was 1733mm, compared to the previous 5 year ANNUAL AVERAGE (Jan 2006 - Dec 2010) of 1282mm.

* Starting from 16 Aug 2009 and ending 4 June 2010 "L" was shown as a day total when light rain fell that was insufficient to tip the meter collector. With the installation of a more sensitive collector on June 4 2010, lowest rain resolution is now 0.3 mm
